Now that you know the benefits and pitfalls of buying a used surfboard we are now ready to find some used surfboards for sale.

There are three main places where you can find used surfboard sales.

Right Under Your Nose

Ok…now don’t take that literally! But you would be suprised how many second hand surfboards for sale are floating around your neighbourhood and you don’t even know it.

There are a number of reasons why someone might want to sell their surfboard. Most often it can be just that the owner has outgrown the surfboard, either in height, weight or talent.

Other times surfers just want to get rid of all their old boards for an expensive custom surfboard or to cover the cost of a plane ticket for a surf trip.

And unfortunately, no matter how silly you may think this is, some people have just given up the sport of surfing!  They are therefore looking to make some space in the garage or spare room while making some extra cash.

The best thing to do is ask around or visit some garage sale.  Maybe you even have a friend, who has a friend, who has another friend that has a used surfboard for sale.  I’m serious!..you never know!

Check Out Your Local Surf Shop

You will quite often find used surfboards for sale at your local surf shop.  Many surf stores allow surfers who wish to buy a new surfboard to trade in their used surfboards to help cover the cost.

This way the surfer spends less and gets rid of their old surfboard in the process.  The surf shop will then resell the used surfboard for more than the discount they gave the owner.

So next time you pop into your local surf shop for some wax just ask if they have any second hand surfboards for sale.  If they don’t you can always ask them if they know where you can buy one from.  They too may also know some surfers wanting to sell their used surfboard to you.

Check The Local Newspaper

This may sound old school to you and you might be saying ‘Do people still do that?’  but the newspaper is another great place to check for used surfboards for sale.

Not everyone is computer savvy in these days of technology and some people therefore still pay to place ads in the classified sections of the local newspapers. So never rule this out!

Check Online

So many people are buying and selling used stuff online, from antique jewelery to cars!  Guess what…..they are selling used surfboards as well.

There are a variety of online websites that allow surfers to create listings and place their used surfboard for sale so that buyers like your self can find them and buy them.  These websites range from stand alone sites focus strictly on selling used surfboards to large major online auction sites such as Ebay.
